PricewaterhouseCooper (PwC) Nigeria – Our client is an indigenous company incorporated to provide strategic storage, marketing, and logistics solutions for the downstream oil & gas sector in Nigeria.They are recruiting to fill the position below:Job Title: Chief Financial OfficerReference Number: 130-PEO01139 Location: Lagos Department: People & Change Nigeria Job type: PermanentRoles & Responsibilities Strategic Responsibilities:Provide strategic management of the Finance function at the company levelWork with the Board, CEO and Business Heads to evaluate investment and acquisitions opportunitiesEstablish and oversee the accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls for the company, including but not limited to revenue recognition, cash management and controls, expense approval authorities, depreciation schedules, etcOversee the reporting of company financial activity to tax authorities, Board of Directors, and outside investorsFacilitate organizational accountability and transparency, while providing strategic leadershipSet up a budgeting process for the company, and work with business heads to prepare budgets, report results, analyse variance and initiate corrective actionsWork with the CEO to analyse organization operations, and to identify opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and systems enhancementAssist the CEO and Board of Directors with strategic initiatives by studying market and economic trends and risks, and how to take advantage of opportunities and mitigate risksAssist with presentations to shareholders, investors, and potential partnersHire and oversee external financial advisors as needed, including auditors and tax professionalsProvide critical support for strategic planning, market growth strategy, and shareholder relationsProvide financial projections, accounting services, and managing the financial risks of the companyDevelop and articulate a comprehensive financial management strategy for the companyAct as chief advisor and strategist providing needed support to the CEO, employees, and Board with respect to the identification of financial risk, and the resolution of attendant issuesProvide analysis, insight, and advice on financial performance to the CEO, and Business Unit Leaders for sound decision making for the companyDevelop internal reports and metrics to provide useful information for management of the businessDirect the Finance department in providing and directing procedures and systems necessary to maintain proper records; afford adequate accounting and project controls; and facilitate accurate and timely preparation of financial statementsDirect and analyse the general economic, business, and financial conditions and their impact on the organization’s policies and financial operationsWork closely with the CEO to analyse new business opportunities. Perform financial and tax due diligence, as neededWork with the CEO and the Head of Human Resources on financial management and oversight of employee benefit and compensation plansSupport CEO and Board of Directors in governance and committee participation (audit, stock, finance)Operational Responsibilities:Balance short term concerns and pressures such as managing cash, liquidity and profitability and long-term vision and sustainable organizational successShare strategic leadership responsibilities with the CEO and other senior managers and ensure the Finance function supports the business at a strategic and operational levelDrive and manage change and innovation within the companyEngage and communicate effectively with colleagues, investors, customers, suppliers, regulators, and other internal and external stakeholdersMaintain existing investment arrangements and evaluate future investment needs and vehiclesIdentify potential strategic investment trends and opportunitiesCreate and maintain a team of professionals (internal or external) to originate, analyse, finance, close and manage investmentsWork with the Board and the company’s business heads to identify and evaluate the capital needed and investment returns of potential new projects of the Group, including acquisitions, investments, and expansion project.Read MoreOil & Gas / Mining / FMCG / Conglomerate
